Being a working parent is hard enough. One of the hardest choices you have to make is choosing the right childcare and learning center. You need to start your search a few months in advance of the time you anticipate that you will need child care. Choosing a trustworthy environment where you and your child are comfortable with will help ease your mind. At this young age, you’ll also want to consider a center that encourages learning and education such as Tutor Time.

Here are 7 signs of a great childcare center

7 Signs of a Great Childcare Center

Good Word of Mouth.
Ask around for any recommendations. Visit online review websites. If a center comes highly recommended by the parents, it’s usually a good sign.

Open Door Policy.
Any childcare center worth its salt will have an open door policy where parents can visit at any time. Schedule your tour around playtime or mealtime to see how things run. Are kids all over the place? Is it controlled chaos? Do they look happy? Are the teachers engaged?

Strong Policies.
A good child care center will happily share its policies regarding illness, emergency care, medication, safety, etc. Although it may be an inconvenience, a strict illness policy benefits everyone.

Trained Staff.
The teachers and staff should be educated, with all of the proper licenses and certifications. Ask to see them and ask what kind of background checks they run on staff. Pictures of the teachers should be posted at the school.

Tidy-ish.
Relatively speaking, the classroom should be clean. Ask the center how often toys and furniture are wiped down.

Curriculum.
If the school has a planned schedule and adheres to it, it’s a good sign that they are not just their to watch your kids, but they are there to help them learn and grow. For example, our son goes to Tutor Time, and they offer Exclusive milestone-based curriculum for infants and toddlers: Learn from the Start™

Safety Measures.
In order to even drop off our son at his childcare center, parents are given a passcode to get in the building, then another passcode to login his arrival. There are child safety locks on various items throughout the classroom: door, windows, supplies, etc.

After our tour at Tutor Time, we knew that this was the right place for him. We enrolled him immediately because we knew that their teaching strategies are designed to maximize the development of each child and to recognize how they learn different
subjects in different ways. Every child is unique and I’m happy to report that Tutor Time provides nurturing and teaching that focuses on the individual needs and strengths of each child.

Tutor Time. Opening Minds. Unleashing imaginations.
