As a working mom, I have to balance a lot of things in my life. when I’m at work, I need specific items from home to get through my day and face any crisis. Whether it is a work-related emergency, clothing emergency, or hunger emergency, these are the items in my desk that every working woman should have.

1. Reusable Water Bottle

Water is a must for any woman on the go. Invest in a great reusable water bottle to hydrate yourself and help out the environment

2. Pick-me-up Snacks

The dreaded 2:30pm slump. Keeping snacks available in case of hunger emergencies will be just the pick-me-up you need to make it through the end of the day. I keep a SNICKERS® bar or two just in case (almond is my favorite). Whenever I eat one,  I make sure to stop by the 7-11 on my way from work to restock). The calories from the chocolate-y and caramel-y yumminess work because it’s there only as my emergency snack. it gives me a little bit of an energy and helps tie me over until dinner.

3. Extra shoes

Make sure these are comfortable shoes that are in a neutral color. They shouldn’t be too trendy. These should be work-appropriate comfortable and timeless so they can coordinate with any outfit.

4. Girly products

You never know when mother nature can take you by surprise. I keep some in my purse and my car as well as my desk.

5. Extra Blazer

The office tends to get cold. Having an extra layer or cover up will help you get through those meetings in the frigid conference room. The blazer will also help dress up any surprise meeting with clients or management.

6. Lint Roller

My son and my beagle always have to get in last minute hugs before I leave for work. Sometimes they leave some residue on my nice black or navy blue clothes. A lint roller helps keep my work outfit looking chic.

7. Phone Charger

We all check our phones at work, especially those that have kids. When my husband deployed, my phone was basically tethered to me in case he called. This could put a drain on my battery so I kept a spare charger at work just in case.
