This Father’s Day will be a very special one. As some of you may remember, my husband was deployed last year during our family’s first official Father’s Day. We had sent him a care package full of Father’s Day goodies to celebrate. Ever since he’s been back, he has been the best dad to our little boy (maybe even rivaling my own dad…. jk Dad!). With his busy schedule, he makes every effort to spend time with our son. He goes on playdates, gets him ready and dressed in the morning so I can sleep on. He puts my son’s needs before anyone else’s (always keeping me in the back of his mind, of course).This year will be the first one with everyone here. I knew I had to go big with this Father’s Day, so as a gift, I decided to give my husband a mini bathroom makeover.

He is in the US Navy, and he likes the color blue (plus his bathroom is already blue!), so I decided to go with a nautical/ocean theme. After all, he is the anchor in our lives. I wanted the look to be sophisticated and not kitschy, I wanted him to go on a “voyage” as opposed to a “boat trip”. Take a look below and see what I did for Father’s Day.
As a special bonus, I went to Macy’s and bought him Nautica Voyage cologne. It smelt amazing in the store, so I knew he would like it. It smelt very fresh and cool, totally perfect for a guy that loves the water. Nautica Voyage has top notes of green leaf and crisp apple and a rich blend of damp moss, musk, and refined woody amber to emphasize masculinity.
