As if 31 flavors wasn’t enough, is going to donate 10 cents from every ice cream scoop sold in its U.S. locations to the on Veterans Day. This donation will help the USO in its mission to “lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families”.

If you are unfamiliar with USO, they are a private, nonprofit, non-partisan organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform and their families.

USO

I worked alongside the USO in the past and they certainly brought some awesome things to my little island. Concerts, meet-and-greets, and shows would have been astronomical in costs for military families in Hawaii who would have had to fly to the mainland to enjoy. The USO brought these programs to families stationed in Hawaii and we could not have been more grateful. They certainly made being stationed on a little island in the middle of the ocean seem a whole lot cooler. Not to mention, they sometimes gave out free tickets to military families for events that were off base,

Not only does the USO program great events, they also help year round at different airport locations. Whether you’re a service member or dependent, you can always feel comfortable visiting the USO counter at the airport if you are ever in need of assistance, or perhaps just a place to wait for your flight. I also know that some local USO provide free dinners and food pantries to military families: just the id required, no other questions asked.

So how awesome is it that Baskin-Robbins  is donating 10 cents of every scoop purchased on Veterans day to the USO? Baskin-Robbins certainly appreciates the sacrifices of U.S. Troops and Veterans. The flavor of the month for November is even called “First Class Camouflage”. I go to Baskin-Robbins for their amazing selection of ice cream flavors, customizable ice cream cakes, frozen drinks and sundaes. I haven’t tried First Class Camouflage though. It’s combination of Chocolate, Salty Caramel, and Cake-flavored ice cream. They’re even doing camouflage waffle cones. Might save that for Veterans Day.

If you’re in The U.S., visit a Baskin-Robbins on or off base on Veterans Day on Nov 11, order a scoop and feel good knowing that 10 cents will go towards the USO to support troops and their families.
