I’m participating in the 2014 Believe in Heroes® blogger campaign and received compensation as part of the program.

When I worked for the Army, the most memorable moment I had was when we would welcome home deployed Soldiers. I was very lucky in that I attended many of the redeployment ceremonies. Seeing the emotion and excitement that military families had in anticipation of their Soldier coming home was awe-inspiring… and very humbling. The base I worked for was primarily an infantry division whose service members were deployed to war zones for 9 months to a year.

I saw and worked with wounded warriors many times. Some injuries were minor, some injuries was major. Some had injuries you couldn’t see.The one constant was that these Soldiers knew they had the full support of programs like the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Wounded Warrior Project helps wounded service members and their families that are faced with many physical challenges as well as those with PTSD.

I was very grateful to have experience working with wounded warriors. It made me realize who the true heroes were in our world, and the price they pay to keep others free. As a nation, we need to give back to these heroes and it can be done through something as simple as grocery shopping.

All you have to is download coupons from participating retailers and products from the Believe in Heroes® organization, go grocery shopping, and support our veterans in the process. Save money AND Support our vets. it’s a win-win.
